Our third principle may be one of the trickiest to understand. We are a free faith and while you can’t believe whatever you want and call yourself a UU, we offer a wide path. We are a humanistic faith—we see ourselves as responsible in making the world a better place. This doesn’t exclude the idea of God, but it doesn’t make that a central focus. With such diversity, what does it mean to encourage one another’s spiritual growth? What do we mean by spiritual? How can we genuinely challenge each other to go deeper while also sitting at very different places around the spirituality table?
