Justice and Compassion in the UUA

The Rev. Cassandra Howe – June 11, 2017

When I bring “justice, equity and compassion in human relations” home to my personal and professional life, I immediately think of what has been happening in the Unitarian Universalist Association. Under growing criticism of hiring practices that perpetuate white supremacy, the Rev. Peter Morales resigned as President of the Association. Others have followed his lead. There have been hurt feelings, lost opportunities for reconciliation, and a lot of fear over a potential walk-out during our upcoming General Assembly. How can our second Principle instruct us as we move forward?
