Two years ago when I retired I bought a tent and hit the road—camping up to Canada across the Midwest to Mexico and back. I came back to Macon after a year, bought a camper and went out again from the Olympic Peninsula to Southern Arizona. This is a big country with lots of people and all their stories. There is value in hitting the road not, of course, anything you can’t learn in your back yard, but I found some insights I would like to share.
