Rev. Cassandra Howe – March 19, 2017
The Rev. Norbert Chopak is a model for us in many ways. He used his institutional power to stand up against rising hate in Prague in the 1930’s. He created the much beloved Flower Communion that is theologically relevant and open to all. In the end Chopak was killed in a Concentration Camp. What are models for sustained activism beyond martyrdom? What models might help us to connect spirit and action so one does not compete against the other? How might we plant the perennial in us so we can be engaged for the long haul?
