A few years ago I was late meeting a friend. When I finally got to the Starbucks where we were meeting, she was sitting at a little table outside, calmly waiting. I did my usual apology for being late and she said, “It’s OK, I like waiting.” In our high-paced culture how might waiting be an act of resistance? How might we turn waiting from something we dread, to a way of practicing our faith?
