Rev. Cassandra Howe – March 20, 2016
This is the Jubilee Year of Mercy in the Catholic Church. To begin this year, Pope Francis ordered all the Holy Doors in Catholic cathedrals to be opened, calling them Doors of Mercy. What a wonderful image—opening the doors. How might we as Unitarian Universalists, who have different beliefs around sin and the need to seek God’s mercy, be called to engage in this year of mercy? How might such a proclamation of an open door be liberating even here, and even today?
