The Great Potluck

Rev. Cassandra Howe – March 6, 2016

Some folks aren’t big on potlucks. I get it. Once you get to the grocery store and, if you are cooking for it, putting your food in a dish and getting it to the party, you might as well have made several meals worth of food for yourself. Potlucks can be a lot of work. But there is something symbolic about the potluck that cuts right to UU culture: many (dishes) come together as one (meal).

In honor of our pledge drive, we look at the Gospel Story of the Loaves and Fishes as a possible lesson on giving, and how we might give not just to High Street, but to our mission that pretty much comes down to even more giving.
